Modifying menu
#1
Hi,

I wanted to know if there is a way to edit the menu that comes up when the right mouse button is pressed on the desktop. I know how to alter the Whisker menu but not this one.

I did some searching but I didn't see anything, maybe I missed something ?

Anyway, suggestions or help would be great.

Thanks a bunch,

@glin22, Wondering why you would want to? From what I see it has some very handy little items included in it.  Smile

Open the file manager -> Edit -> Configure custom action

You can edit remove or add some (not all) of the right click options there.

I only found one article on this that looks like it contains enough information to get you started, but it is for xubuntu and the file locations are different. This is a pretty old article as well and things may have changed, or be different on LL. Be very cautious if you attempt to edit the file mentioned and make sure you make a backup of the file first.

Thanks very much for your feedback on this menu issue, folks ! I've got more info now and I am pretty sure I can get this tweaked to my liking.

@glin22, Have a look at Settings>Desktop>Menus>Desktop Menu checkbox is ticked by default. By un-ticking it you do get rid of the Applications part of the menu.

Other than that it is as @UltraCookie wrote ...

And then there is the url link that @avj posted for you.

Just wanted to say thanks for your replies on this issue, I now know how to edit the right click menu and it's clear to me what I need to do if I want to change that.
