I'll be updating tonight  Wink
I've been running 2.6 beta on 1 system for about a week and 2.2 on another system for close to a year.
Great OS!!

On a side note...
I'm still new-ish to Linux and not sure if this was something in Beta or not, I haven't attempted to reproduce in 2.2, but... Last night I was messing with the wireless (typically this box is wired) and Unchecked the "Enable Wireless" option of the network manager. Since then the option to enable has gone away completely (Its not a laptop, FN+F2 isn't an option).
- It may be me but...

After my trip to Austin Texas ans my Linux-Lite laptop wireless failed to connect to my sons wireless router.
Let alone not even see it.

When I got home I installed WICD which is easier for me to trouble shoot and use. YMMV from mine though.

Code:
$ apt-cache policy wicd
wicd:
  Installed: 1.7.2.4-4.1ubuntu1
  Candidate: 1.7.2.4-4.1ubuntu1
  Version table:
*** 1.7.2.4-4.1ubuntu1 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/universe i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

my trouble shooter is

Code:
netstat

Not sure if a update killed network manager for me. I tried re-installing and looking through /etc/resolv.conf.
It was just easier to install WICD and call it a day for me.

Thanks for the info, I may look into if still problems..
Think I updated from Beta to Final!!! Quick and Easy

TIA

For those on Linux Lite 2.4 do the following:

1) Menu, Favorites, Install Updates.
2) Menu, Settings, Lite Upgrade.
3) Follow the onscreen instructions, reboot when finished.

eeePC 901

Done that but Wi-Fi adapter not detected, dmesg indicates adapter unblocked in BIOS but not present on PCI. Adapter is Ralink Corp RT2790 802.11n

Had to revert to LL2.4 from image taken before upgrade.

After reverting to LL2.4 I tried a live version of 2.6 and wi-fi worked ok. A new upgrade to 2.6 was successful so all is wel now. Smile Gremlins at play!

Lite Control Centre looks good too.  Smile
1) Lenovo T520 i5 LL3.8 8GB ram, fast & stable
2) Medion P4 32bit LL3.8 1GB ram, quite fast & stable
3) eeePC 901 32bit LL3.8 1GB ram, fast & stable
4) eeePC 701 32bit LL3.8 1GB ram, slower & stable but small and light enough to travel with me to New Zealand when visiting family in Blenheim.

WOWIE! Love this release already! The new control centre is awesome and easy to navigate. Doing a clean install of 2.6 on my HP netbook.

I just installed a fresh Linux Lite 2.6 (from the ISOs) on two machines one 32bit one 64bit, I noticed that the Firewall Configuration GUI (gufw) was not installed by default on the 64bit version. Was this left out of the 64bit version on purpose, or was it just an oversight?
#47
An oversight, thanks Xorcist. Added for 2.8 Smile

If you've upgraded to LL 2.6, don't forget to change your Forum profile to 2.6 Smile

I'm glad I found this forum to finally, and this Linux Lite 2.6 is running like a dream of this five-year-old Fujitsu E8420 laptop. Good work has been done.

My fedora laptop died, but to repay me for fixxing two computers, I was given a desktop computer. It doesn't have enough RAM for Gnome. So I installed Linux lite 2.6, and it has been doing good so far.
