Just in case you have a spare disk flying around (at least as big as the one you took an image from), it's always a good practice to actually test the restoring process.
If I got it correctly you speparately cloned the partitions, i.e. not the whole disk, did you? Just as heads up, in case of a necessary recovery you would usually still be left with having to rebuild/install a boot loader! The beauty of having a complete disk image is that even the boatloader is taken care of
