2.4 install created sparse settings manager
#1
installed from a media checked DVD to PATA drive desktop
settings manager is now sparse.
only showing are
screensaver
user manager
workspaces
lite upgrade
mime type
settings editor

all updated were applied
no errors found
/var/log

any ideas?

Sound like everything didn't copy to the drive. Are all the applications in /usr/share/applications? What are the specs of the rest of the computer?

It was setup clean /
and home was created by skel
I restored my /home from deja (a backup from xubuntu 14.04)
and it overwrote the skel settings


could something bad  be in ?
~/.local/share/applications/

Theres your problem there. You can't restore from Xubuntu.
