improvements to "Recent Posts" section
#1
Hi,

Not sure whether the forum software is 3rd party and can't be changed/ customized...

If yes, I'd like to suggest the following improvement to the "Recent Posts" section:

* add a scrollbar so that the user can scroll down the list of recent posts to find a little bit older ones
* maybe summarize all consecutive posts of the same topic in one line with a count

reason: The section is very small and only shows the last 7 posts. Quite often I can only see one topic due to an active discussion going on that created >= 7 entries in a row. In that case other, relatively new topics drop off the list and can't be picked up on the first glance at the forum.

Thanks for your time and consideration Smile

Hello LL-user,

whilst awaiting the staff decision on your suggestion there is an option you may wish to try, to the right side of the page opposite the Linux Lite header and icon, below your username and the date is an option titled 'Show unread posts since last visit'.
When clicked this has a summary of the unread posts with only 1 instance of each topic regardless of the number of replies since your last view of it.
Also on this page is an option 'Mark all messages as read', once you have read the topics that interested you if you click this it empties the list for you, emptied topics would only reappear on this list if they have new replies.

Sorry, I didn't see that option. Will definitely give it a try. Thanks for the tip! Smile

I've increased it to ten, should be a good compromise for now.
