I'm going to need more than 'Error message came up' please. Either screenshot or type the message. Cheers.

Just tested - ZRam, Preload work perfect here, no issues. Try one at a time. TLP - I'll have to try later on a laptop.

Is 3.8 upgrade to 4.0 gonna work or do I need a cleaner?

After a clean install of LL 4.0 Final on a Dell Inspiron 1501 still having the same issues as detailed in this thread

https://www.freecinema2022.gq/forums/sugge...st-kernel/

The laptop goes thru the motions for a rebootshutdown but after stopping services and unmounting hdd it won't poweroff.

I've installed ukuu (Ubuntu Kernel Update Utility) and managed to find an older kernel v4.6.2 which actually works. I will keep testing kernels and update on the original thread to avoid hijacking this one.

Otherwise, there's only one "annoyance" I've seen so far, when doing updates, after downloading the list of updates and clicking to install, there is no progress bar for the actual download/install and the only way I knew the process was finished was when the hdd indicator light on the laptop stopped flickering.

Anyway great distro Smile

The errno5 error is solved. I used dd command to create the usb drive but that gave the error. Used etcher and all ok.
However i do get error messages during boot. They are
error: no suitable video mode found.
error: no video mode activated.
error: no video mode activated.

Also the bootup time is 3 times as long as with 3.8 took 1,5 minute to boot
Update: Boot time is ok now, i removed the virtualbox support additions. Now only have problem with the trim on ssd. After last step of enabling trim i get this message: mv: cannot stat '/etc/cron.weekly/fstrim': No such file or directory
Also after reboot there isnt a trimlog.
