PCMCIA USB 2.0 Cards & Linux Lite

Hello!

Happy to help. I tried this on a Sony VAIO laptop I have, and Plop wouldn't see the card in the one PCMCIA port it has.

Since it only worked in the bottom slot on the Dell, I'm thinking it's looking for it at slot 1 (or slot 2, if the top slot is 1). I may have to look at the code to see if I can 'tweak' it to recognize the card in any PCMCIA slot.

I THINK the Sony MAY use USB 2.0 already; it just won't boot from USB in the BIOS. Basically, all it's going to be is a 'print server' for a LaserJet 3100. It HAS to run on XP because the Vista/7/8/8.1 kernel won't support the 3100's software. Nonetheless, it's set up as an XP/W7/LL triple-booter...
