"Updates"
#11
I avoid all of the "borked after updating" issues that many Ubuntu-based distros are infamous for by using this unofficial update manager from Ralphy's treasure chest.

Yes I did.I now have 2GB of RAM & the option to add another 1GB possibly (I have two more individual 1GB modules that were manhandled by my blind neighbor who received them by mistake curtsy of Royal Mail).

Quite possibly, who knows!I have just done the upgrading & updating procedure now & then & part of that process seems to have been a new firefox so you assume they have made improvements?

If different that what is said on your name, please say if you have the 64bit version or not. As for the crashing there was a thread about Firefox not supporting SSE and it was crashing and there is a fix, not the best, but there is a fix.

Please see if this might be the problem.

You can get the info about my computer from my previous thread if you can access that.As for the partition;I've just got it divided between windows XP & Linux Lite & that did'nt present problems previously when newtusmaximus kindly supplied me with the original installation CD.I have just updated & upgraded from that! What the hell is SSE & if there is a known flaw then why the hell don't they just incorporate the fix in subsequent updates? :o It just dos'nt seem to be very well thought out or organized.(I am getting so many key board problems typing this all of a sudden you really must excuse my lack of patience). It's time I did something different. PS: I just tried to read that link & make sense of it then the fucking thing crashed again while writing out a rely & the keyboard problems are prevalent while writing this......Every installation of Linux should come with it's own therapist  ;D

Maybe I'll try it while waiting for my therapist to arrive.

The latest is that I am getting continual problems writing text & find that I have to re-initialize my wireless keyboard.Never had these problems with Windows XP & their updates!
