Transparent Feather Background

If you choose color to alpha it does crazy thing to the image. I fixed the image but when i put it on imgur it converts it to a jpg.

Is this what you need?

It still leaves the glow but it's fairly close to what I was after. I was considering trying to create an SVG in Inkscape which might allow more flexibility and sharpness for future graphics work. Thanks for reminding me about that function in Gimp! I don't know why I always try to use the color tool.

How much do you need it adjusted? Do you need it more transparent? I did most of the removal by hand.
