Hey there, I installed KWin successfully using the terminal with this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5kiYjg3Rog
combined that with Spat's suggestion of alt+f2 to bring up a launcher and typing "kwin --replace". Replacing the icons and things is just a triviality and not necessary. This only worked until my next reboot, however, and using the --replace command no longer works even though I've verified that all of the kwin bits are installed. This is curious to me and any more input would be appreciated.
