Hi Just an update....
Having now gone completely LL2 on all 3 PC's, I encountered the similar "read only access" issues..
But this time it was connecting to shares From Linux Lite To Linux Lite.
Again Browsing via FM(Thunar) shows the folders/files but they are R/O
((I do have the same username/password on all 3 PC's))
The solution in my previous posts also works for this scenario, I have 2 standard shares on each LL2 machine.
Just a note re: the use of ip addresses is not ideal....
but for whatever reason I'm unable to use "share names", it gives an error "unable to resolve"..??
Some Googling led me to adding
in to the samba.conf file, this did not help, maybe it's for mixed Linux/Windows set-up's..??
I will keep looking....
Also,
being that this in the rc.local I need to look at how to do this without errors if one of the other PC's is Off
Unless any ones got a better solution/fix.??
Dave

Code:
name resolve order = bcast host lmhosts wins
