Obviously your second option of waiting with 4.4.0-194 is working for you.
The benefits of 4.4.0-201 over -194 might not be worth the effort.
The impending end of support for 3.8 is also a factor to consider.
Provided you have enough resources including time, boot media, working restore points and back ups to get you out of potential trouble you could try Synaptics (Install/Remove Software) to get a -201 kernel if you cleaned 201 after installing 4.4.0-202. Personally, I would duplicate my working disk to an external disk before proceeding using Clonezilla. If 4.4.0-201 will download and install then the assumption is that it can be made bootable using Lite Tweaks.
1) open Synaptics package manager
2) filter for 201-generic
3) mark the linux-image-4.4.0-201-generic, linux-modules-4.4.0-201-generic, linux-headers-4.4.0-201-generic, linux-modules-extra-4.4.0-201-generic packages
