Updates not working

Oh well. Firenice03 says that PPA's can cause issues with general updates, apparently even when the official Ubuntu repositories are still there. I'm inclined to opine that this seems like a bug, but what do I know? :-)

hasn't seen an update for over a decade! last one was on 2009! If I'd have to guess, I'd say the project's most likely dead.
