Is Lutris the best option for playing Windows games? I thought about Crossover too (a commercial product based on WINE) but it isn't free. Are there any alternatives to WINE to run Windows programs on LL?

Yes, there is. Install virtualbox, create a windows VM(virtual machine) and install your games in the VM. Performance will depend on the host (real pc, the one virtualbox and the VM is running on) capacities; the more resources your real pc has, the better the VM will run.

Quote:Hello All,

I may go back to school to get another degree. My laptop is about 6 years old (a Lenovo R61) and I am wondering if anyone has used Linux Lite with university programs. Most places will either require a Mac or a Windows based laptop, and they usually utilize some kind of software such as Blackboard. Has anyone gone back to school with Linux Lite? I don't want to buy another laptop if I can help it, but I don't want to start a semester with "the wrong stuff" as that will put me behind in my studies.

Thanks!

Ask the University you're going to whether or not it'll work; ask them if you can use your Linux based pc. They surely can provide you with the right answers.  Regarding installing a Blackboard, see here https://help.blackboard.com/es-es/Learn/...he_Install there are options, this is only one but there are many others, google "blackboard software in Linux" or something like that.
