And a question, should it matter if the dvd used is rewritable?
Or should it be a standard dvd, non-rewritable?

I don't know if that makes a difference or not.  I've only ever used read-only disks myself and not had problems.

Did some more searching and found this post saying might have something to do with BIOS settings for the CD/DVD drive.  I'm kind of leaning in this direction myself, but who knows?  It's just another guess really.
