First off, don't hate me for being frugal with my hardware - and thanks for the links!. :-)
Host box is maxed out with 8G RAM, however it's also my home NAS so I don't want to starve that functionality, hence the 3G to my LL guest VM.
I'm using xrdp due to a combination of finding it performs better (for me) than VNC as well as my connection source machines (often Windows based) not always allowing VNC installations, But they pretty much always have a Remote Desktop client. Think school / library / internet cafe machines.
The idea of thin clients is nice and I'll need to read more closely about gnome-boxes, but that seesm to need the client to have SSH (and potentially be running Linux) which is unfortunately something I can't rely on (yet - we'll get LL out to the world eventually!).
