Keyboard Shortcut for Volume Control
#2
Hello dmrome,

Welcome to the forum and Linux LiteĀ  Smile

by default in Linux Lite, on my keyboard if I -

Hold down the Ctrl key and press the upwards arrow this will increase the volume in VLC Player.
Hold down the Ctrl key and press the downwards arrow this will decrease the volume in VLC Player.
Hold down the Ctrl key and pressing right or left arrow will move the track forwards or backwards.

For YouTube videos, such as embedded on the forum, it needs only the upwards and downwards arrows to increase, or decrease volume, with the right arrow key moving the track forwards, and the left arrow key moves the track backwards. (Ctrl key not needed).

If this does not work on your keyboard -

Menu>All>Keyboard

You can add a shortcut under the applications tab.

It may be able to be done under the layout tab using compose, I have only recently used this, so am not sure about this , [member=5414]firenice03[/member] made a method and tutorial for me that solved a different need I had, here - https://www.freecinema2022.gq/forums/other.../#msg46133

As an additional note so not to make confusion above, my keyboard (Chicony) also has additional keys including multimedia buttons for volume up, down and mute, stop, play pause, forwards and backward above the line of F1-F12 keys, these multimedia buttons also all work by default in Linux Lite, in case this helps someone with a different question, at a future time.
