[size=1em]Set the partition (Right Click add) - I used all the space, format to ext4 and mount point "/" (there is a drop down for each field)[/size]

[size=1em]What it should look like after the above prior to clicking install, ... Device for boot loader I left as default /dev/sda[/size]

[size=1em]Although not sure why the Erase and install didnt work for you right off....[/size]
[size=1em]Also, looking at your screen shot in the previous of the same (gparted)[/size]
[size=1em]Your /sda partition, disk /sda1 is a 1TB drive with 16GB in use... This disk will need to be formated. (you will erase the disk by doing so)[/size]
[size=1em]It may be best to delete /sda1 and start over - Perhaps from the Live environment, open gparted (can search menu)[/size]
[size=1em]Right Click /sda1 and delete.. (you will erase the disk by doing so) Click the Check Mark Icon in the tool bar to accept[/size]
[size=1em]Then you can launch the installer (Something else to follow) -- Right Click the unallocated, select Create then mirror my 2nd screenshot (size should default)[/size]
