I can only think of if the files that cannot be moved have been extracted from compression or archives on one of the drives ?
You can either extract to the drive you want, or use sudo to copy or move them.

The first file I tried to copy was just some Firefox bookmarks (an html file, in other words) that I had on another computer and I copied to the flash drive so I could then copy it to this Linux machine. The other one was a folder of files which I had extracted to my local second drive, but I wanted to put them in a different folder on the same drive. It seems like both of these should be pretty trouble-free transfers...at least it seems that way to me, LOL.
