We can do the menu approach also, you have some more choices. You can have it on right click anywhere on the desktop and/or in the whisker menu. Everything is adjustable in XFCE. The only issue is that things get more involved in a config file for the right click portion, the whisker menu you can right click on the feather and you should see somewhere to adjust menu or modify menu and you can add a launcher there
