Some people will get annoyed at suggestions that another OS might be better than what they're using, others may welcome the suggestions, especially if they're fed up with current issues they're having.
And the majority probably don't understand the differences between what they have now that isn't working properly and the possibilities that are out there.
Some hardcore fans of an OS can be annoying because they believe what they use is better and everyone else should use it as well, so they continuously say so every chance they get.
And that goes for all OS's, I've seen irritating, continuous suggestions that their OS of choice is better from users of many different OS's.
If someone I know is having troubles with a Windows PC, occasionally I'll suggest they boot into a live Linux DVD or USB & see if the problem goes away.
Though I find one usually has to be somewhat tactful when suggesting this, some people are scared to death of making any changes to their computers as it's what they've been told since day one, not to do this, not to try that, not to attempt something else etc. etc...
