I meant partitioning and installing LL 4.0 manually to a clean drive.

Firstly, your drive is not 'clean' as there are 24,32 GiB allocated for something on your 'clean' drive.

From what I can see it is one ext4 partition on /.

Secondly, from what I can see, your 'clean' hard drive is external, not internal, as it is named sdb, not sda. Do you see the difference (see below)?



I can't imagine how to install a distro on an external HDD without grub on it, as, I think, grub should be written on the internal HDD. Please ask someone else, who can help you, for I can't, sorry.
