Firstly, your drive is not 'clean' as there are 24,32 GiB allocated for something on your 'clean' drive.

I can't imagine how to install a distro on an external HDD without grub on it, as, I think, grub should be written on the internal HDD. Please ask someone else, who can help you, for I can't, sorry.
