Now that you're on the 4.4.x-x kernel series run the commands Jerry suggested.
1) sudo rfkill unblock all
2) sudo sed -i 's/wifi.powersave = 3/wifi.powersave = 2/g' /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/default-wifi-powersave-on.conf
