Kernel Upgrade but Previous Kernel Running
#2
[member=47]Scott[/member]
Were you able to fix this?

I also have the same problem -  the terminal command uname -r shows that kernel version 4.4.0-112 is installed.
However when I update the kernel to 4.4.0-116, both the grubscreen and uname -r continue to show only version 112.

In contrast to this, sudo update-grub shows that it's 116 installed:
Code:
mike@G750JS:~$ sudo update-grub
[sudo] password for mike:
Generating grub configuration file ...
Found background: /boot/grub_linux_lite.png
Warning: Setting GRUB_TIMEOUT to a non-zero value when GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT is set is no longer supported.
Found background image: /boot/grub_linux_lite.png
Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-4.4.0-116-generic
Found initrd image: /boot/initrd.img-4.4.0-116-generic
Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-4.4.0-112-generic
Found initrd image: /boot/initrd.img-4.4.0-112-generic
Found memtest86+ image: /boot/memtest86+.elf
Found memtest86+ image: /boot/memtest86+.bin
Found Manjaro Linux (17.1.0) on /dev/sda3
done

In addition the Kernel Remover option, under Lite Tweaks, also shows that 116 is installed, listing the following 4 packages:
linux-headers-4.4.0-116
linux-headers-4.4.0-116-generic
linux-image-4.4.0-116-generic
linux-image-extra-4.4.0-116-generic

What's going on and how to fix this?
Obviously I want to be as up-to-date as I can with Kernel 4.4 for security.

Many thanks in advance for any help with this - much appreciated as always.
64bit OS (32-bit on Samsung[i] netbook) installed in [i]Legacy mode on MBR-formatted SSDs (except pi which uses a micro SDHC card):
2017 - Raspberry pi 3B (4cores) ~ [email protected] - LibreElec, used for upgrading our Samsung TV (excellent for the task)
2012 - Lenovo G580 2689 (2cores; 4threads] ~ [email protected] - LL3.8/Win8.1 dual-boot (LL working smoothly)
2011 - Samsung NP-N145 Plus (1core; 2threads) ~ Intel Atom [email protected] - LL 3.8 32-bit (64-bit too 'laggy')
2008 - Asus X71Q (2cores) ~ Intel [email protected] - LL4.6/Win8.1 dual-boot, LL works fine with kernel 4.15
2007 - Dell Latitude D630 (2cores) ~ Intel [email protected] - LL4.6, works well with kernel 4.4; 4.15 doesn't work
