My first experience with Lite 3.8 (French)
#2
Had all the same problems in french as you, except the Keyboard part. I usually put "Canadian Multilingual" and not "French Canadian".

For the install part, I would suggest doing the install in english first (Canadian Multilingual keyboard is OK). THEN, from the Lite Welcome screen, do the steps in order. When selecting languages "English" is the last active on the list (everything below is deactivated. So Put French(Canada) on top then English. Apply to all system. On reboot, do updates again and when asked DO NOT change folder names, this is broken (I do not know why but I'm guessing the "é" could be the culprits).

Maybe Mint has more complete translations (and biggers teams/funds) but Linux Lite has everything else better. Wink
