1) The application I really liked and miss the most is Remmina which has yet to reappear in Debian stable.
2) An application I really like and use regularly (in Debian and Ubuntu not LL) is gnome-boxes, simple and convenient with easy USB switching and solid qemu underpinnings and continues to improve regularly.
3) XFCE terminal. Should be default in LL.
4) CherryTree, one of the easiest applications to derive a timeline presentation from.
5) *Lite Tweaks along with Lite Updates * Two of the most functional and well thought out GUI utilities in the Linux world today. Deserve an award.
6) Simple classic Linux applications I use regularly: scalpel, nmap, chntpw, dmidecode, x11vnc, xming, fim, gnome-commander
7) Startpage search engine
Applications it would be nice to have:
1) A full featured WYSIWYG html editor and web page builder.
2) Better SMS support for desktop phone messaging.
Applications that should just disappear altogether:
1) Plymouth
2) Screensavers in general (Debian window shade screenlocker is the simplest and best and can be configured for smartcard, and/or fingerprint now)
