I like the flat icon themes you showed in the pic Jerry, and I would love to see this included in the next version of Linux Lite. In fact one of the very few things I don't like about the default Linux Lite is that there aren't many choices for having different folders look a little different at first glance. I know I can add emblems to my folders individually, which I have already done, but there aren't many emblems to choose from and it's kinda hard to get a cohesive look that way.
Any icons resembling Windows would be IMHO a turnoff as a default setting, so I'm glad the ones Jerry showed are not similar to those. Reason being I was wanting to move AWAY from Microsoft when I moved to Linux, and I didn't want a default setting that looked like Microsoft. Yeah I know I can customize, but I wanted something that didn't look Microsoft-ish, right out of the box.
I'm currently using Arc-darker with GNOME icons, and I'm enjoying the look of it. Yes the Arc color looks a dark blue/purple/gray to me, but I actually like that as it's not a boring gray. Overall, my aim was to get a look that didn't look like Mac or Windows, and which looked more trendy/high-tech than either. I would have liked to use icons other than GNOME, but everything else either looked square in shape for panel icons (too distracting), or orange/purple in color (don't like) or black-and-white (too boring). So, the GNOME icons work fine for me but I'd love to switch to the flat icons Jerry showed. This is just my opinion, and I know that all of us might have very different opinions on this.

Using Linux Lite for everything now. I put it on my desktop and my laptop. Woohoo!
