Why Ubuntu base?

... surely the developer would be the best to answer this question ... just an aside, if you solve a problem by using another forum it would be nice to see the issue and outcome posted here

Thanks. I have been waiting from "the" answer from the developer before considering the question solved here. I was asking what were the advantages and disadvantages of Debian based vs. Ubuntu based distros on the other forum.
