question about upgrading to newer version
#1
I am running an older version of linux lite, I would like to upgrade to the newer version 3.2    I know that I can backup and restore everything in the Home folder, but is there a way to keep track of and save any of the modifications I have made which may not be in my home folder?  Over time I have made quite a few changes/additions to the stock OS.  I have Back in Time installed, but I think that would only help with restoring the older distro.  Originally I tried to start a list of programs that I installed through the Lite Software Center, but as with many good intentions it has not been kept up to date.  Also, there were a lot of things I changed which were not through the GUI, some were through a terminal, some with Wine, as I said I wanted to keep a list but eventually forgot to.

One of the main reasons I want to do this is my Firefox no longer works properly, it opens in a fresh window every time and does not keep any bookmarks or tabs.  I tried restoring from backup but it hasn't fixed it.  If necessary I might have to start a separate thread about the browser problem, but it occurred to me that one way around it might be to upgrade to a newer Linux Lite and a fresh browser installation.
