Working - Kodi in Linux Lite with remote control

I noticed that in the bottom right of Kodi it will appear a box, "updating ...", then go through any of the addons one at a time that have updates, displaying the name and logo of each addon as each is done.
I waited for these to complete and the box to close before continuing.

I am unsure how they are updated manually yet.

Are the DIY, FYI, HGTV dependent upon F4M by Shani, and if so is it installed ?

Does this update them to new episodes ?
From Kodi main screen menu -
System>Settings>Video>Library
Click radio button "update library on startup"
