Working - Kodi in Linux Lite with remote control

I have been fooling with kodi for couple months and like it, the bells and whistles are hidden and confusing. I need your help and others. Still trying to figure out how to update the Tv videos I watch from DIY, FYI, HGTV, on and on. It marks them as watched, but updating the old to new is a mystery? Thank you for starting this, though...
