Thanks for your response. However, overall I don't think I totally follow your suggestions and questions.
I'm not familiar with the "install image". Within the BIOS settings I changed to boot from the DVD that has the Linux Lite on it. Booting from the regular hard drive, I would assume is good although it's Windows XP.
However, since Windows XP is outdated. I'd like to use Linux Lite. Once it boots from the dvd, I have four desktop icons: Linux Lite 3.2, Floppy Disk, Install Linux Lite, and Menu. Oh, and a "Welcome To Linux Lite" screen with various options displays too.
I figured that I'd like for Linux Lite to be a permanent operating system bypassing the need to boot from this DVD each time. So, I thought the next step would be to "Install Linux Lite" , but unsuccessful.
Perhaps I missed some steps...
