Password Feedback in the Terminal

Hi Jerry,

Given the aspects that ...

1. the default behavior on Linux is without feedback (general use of/ education in Linux)
   
2. giving away the length of the password that easily (security)
   

... I would not suggest following this path.

However, if the default behavior (= no feedback) does add severe confusion/frustration to new users, then I would rather see some improvements in educating them about the default behavior on Linux than changing it. For example by adding adequate entries to the Help Manual or providing more verbose prompts with password requests.
