It is probably correct that the repositories are a problem. The support in Debian stable is complete for basic desktop. You may have to find the correct versions for certain packages in linux lite, however, and you may have to force those versions with synaptic to install them. Libreoffice is probably a case like that. Ubuntu repository versions can be tricky and depending where you look appear to be correct when they are not correct for Unbuntu based distros, only for the Unbuntu distro itself. Updated or higher numbered packages may not be the correct ones. I use lots of older dated Debian applications in linux lite, sometimes forcing versions in synaptic. Still some packages themselves may not have Dutch support. Good luck. Ubuntu is not Debian itself, though Debian based. Simply put, Ubuntu is modified Debian, and Linux Lite is modified Ubuntu.
