Sounds like you've already re-installed Windows and lost whatever wasn't backed-up, so this is too late for you.

Just in case someone else stumbles onto this post looking for solution, here's another way to attempt getting MS Windows to boot if you don't have a Windows installation/recovery disk:  http://robert.penz.name/221/mini-howto-r...ith-linux/.
