For taxes, I prefer the desktop version over the web based option. The desktop version usually only works with Windows or maybe Macs. I don't like dual booting, so I used the Windows 7 license I have to create a Windows 7 virtual machine using VirtualBox. I installed my tax software there. You might consider the same.
Tax software is so year specific, and it's unlikely Wine will keep up with that. Meaning, by the time you can get your tax software to work using Wine, you'll be in another tax year.
