Is Linux Lite 1.0.0 too old?

I think forum member AVJ has an Intel Atom processor with 1GB of RAM, and he runs Linux Lite 2.8 32bit. So it might run on your machine, too. If performance is still an issue at that point, consider an even lighter distro. Perhaps something running the LXDE desktop environment like LXLE.
