This worked for me, your upstream may vary...

sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/linuxlite.list

Change 'trusty' to 'beryl'
(fixes problem with linuxlite repo)

Download and install chrome from their website
Google and install 'talkplugin' for google hangouts
(fixes issues with google repos)

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

Worked for linux lite 2.6 LTS on my Dell XT-2 laptop.
