Printer doesn't stay enabled after reboot HP 3500
#7
I chose Yes to execute the utility, then All to let her rip. I think I saw the bit about HPlip being outdated the first time through, but don't remember choosing to update it. Not sure. Running hp-doctor again says:

Code:
Current contents of '/var/lib/hp/hplip.state' file:
Plugins are not installed. Could not access file: No such file or directory

Current contents of '~/.hplip/hplip.conf' file:
[installation]
date_time = 11/05/2015 07:58:39
version = 3.14.3

From the date it looks like I did install it. Nothing about HPLIP version being out of date now, yet the link torreydale gave shows 3.15.9 being available. Maybe  the driver version is keyed to the ubuntu version?
