Just to try all possibilities I have carried out your suggestions - re browsers I have cleared history cookies etc on Chromium, Chrome, Firefox and Midori. I have then shut down and rebooted computer. Regret no change - Mouse pointer freezes as before, irrespective of whether usb or ps2 ( separate mouses ( mice? ) Other mouse functions work i.e get ghosting as described above.
To recap problem originally overcome with pepperflah in previous version of LL but now returned since upgrade. Has something changed with youtube?? Very frustrating.
