I always make my panel clear so my dark wallpaper shows through.
I don't really understand about UEF but installed Linux Lite 2.6 on my recently purchased computer. http://www.freecinema2022.gq/forums/on-top.../#msg17173
I did have to call ASUS to get help changing BIOS to boot from DVD first. Never had that problem on my old computers. The BIOS looks different so that may have been UEFI :-\
