I have a high latency network connection (satellite), and the default network settings don't work well with it.
What I would like to see added is some sort of simple network setting optimiser that would allow
me to change the settings from a gui, for things such as:
net.ipv4.tcp_rmem = Receive window memory vector
net.ipv4.tcp_wmem = Send window memory vector
net.ipv4.tcp_mem = TCP stack memory vector
net.ipv4.tcp_no_metrics_save
In windows I used to have a program called tcp optimiser, but I haven't found anything similar for Linux.
I usually use a terminal to set these, by the instructions in an old tutorial found on the ubuntu forums.
