Hi Wirezfree,
An Intel Core i7 i7-4790K (Quad Core 4GHz) is on my future list, but not until at least next year. Probably on a Gigabyte Z97X-SOC under LL 2.8 or 3.0. I'll be using it to have a play with software based radio, using GNU Radio and others. I've tried with my present machines but they all max-out on processing.
This machine running Windows 7 is an E35M1-I supporting LL 2.6 on VMware, is mainly a video machine. With a dual channel PVR, using nPVR and a pair of RTL2832U+R820T USB dongles. Together with 750GB +2 TB +2TB + 2 Blueray recordable drives, plus a bucket full of video software.
The machine being built is based on an E35M1-I, which again has 6 off 6gb sata support, but also has increased memory support to 16GB. Like I say I now have all the bits, including a small case, and just need the 2TB 2.5 inch drive, which I'll buy soon. That'll be my music machine, complete with a miniDLNA server, and Winamp on XP within virtualbox.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said. But I'm not sure you realise that what you heard is not what I meant.
