I did that, and now each link opens in Google Chrome.  But my default browser is Chromium.

Oh, Chromium is default. Sorry I lost track from all the posts.
2 options:
1. You can use lite tweaks to set your default browser. (recommended)
2. Edit the settings file manually

Code:

gksudo leafpad /etc/gnome/defaults.list

and replace all occurances of google-chrome.desktop; with chromium-browser.desktop;
