Based on Colin's post, it didn't seem to me like he was looking for a text editor. Furthermore, he's a forum regular, so one could presume that he's familiar with text editor options. I could be wrong, but my guess is he either likes the challenge of getting Microsoft Wordpad to work in Linux using Wine, or he's looking for a scaled down version of a word processor like Microsoft Wordpad.

I have the answer! Check this out.
I got this by doing the following: Menu->Wine->Browse C:drive. I opened the windows folder. Then the system32 folder. I searched for wordpad.exe. I clicked on it. And then it was done.
To make it even sweeter, I created a shortcut as a test. Just right click on the wordpad.exe file and choose Send To->Desktop (Create Link).
Piece of cake.
