Best practice here is to do the install but do not select updates or third party.
Once done with install reboot.
Login to the system.
Open menu in the bottom left hand corner.
Type update in to the little white box
Select Install Updates should be the top item in the list.
Type in your user password

Click okay when prompted
System will then update.
----- "Will now fetch updates list"
------"Updating software sources"
------"Linux Lite Updates" listed 200 items
------"Click update to continue"
------"Downloading" about 1/2 hour
------" Installing" 4 minutes
------"Linux updates have failed" this is the same message I have received 4 times
