Linux Lite boot and shutdown issues.
#5
Here is one way that worked for installing to a USB stick using a windows xp machine.

Efforts which gave limited success:
- linux lite 2.4 32 & 64 installed using YUMI-2.0.1.6.exe, worked OK, no persistence, slow startup & shutdown
- linux lite 32 using win32diskimager 0.9.5 worked OK, no persistence, slow startup & shutdown.
- linux lite 32 using LiLi didn't work.
- unetbootin did work w/ basically no problems.

What worked best:
- This created a USB stick with persistence that boots as quickly as any other linux distro and has persistence.
- Used minitool partition wizard v9 (pwfree90.exe).
- Used unetbootin v608.
- used 4 gb verbatim USB stick which had been formatted several times.
- This USB stick works OK for several other  distros.

1. Used minitool partition wizard to wipe all partitions
2. Then used it to create a fat32 partition using all the space on the stick.
3. Used unetbootin to install LLite from an ISO saved on the windows machine.
4. Had unetbootin create a 2 gb persistence file.
5. Now the USB stick is has only 1 partition.
6. seemed that 2 reboots needed before the installation ran smoothly ??

Steps 1 & 2 were needed to get rid of a small unallocated space at the very start of the USB stick.  I thought it might be interfering with finding the bootloader.  Just a guess??  It wouldn't go away nor shrink to 0 bytes using GParted, Acronis DD, pwfree90, nor windows diskmgmt.msc.

Edit:  Don't think the graphics driver was an issue.  Not sure of that.
Thanks again for this excellent distro and the helpful forum.
