Nope. Close but no cigar. Maybe my intro will help you

Notice my
Quote:Network:  Card-1: Intel WiFi Link 5100
          driver: iwlwifi v: in-tree: bus-ID: 0c:00.0
IF: wlan0 state: up mac: <filter>
Card-2: Intel 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection
          driver: e1000e v: 2.3.2-k port: efe0 bus-ID: 00:19.0
IF: eth0 state: down mac: <filter>

that describes my wireless chip and driver being used.

Also. Just for info purposes. To make sure the "fujitsu amilo A 1630" wireless hotkey has not turned off wireless or wireless is not turned off in bios. Do a rfkill list all in terminal and post results.

Mine for example.

Code:
$ rfkill list all
0: hci0: Bluetooth
   Soft blocked: no
   Hard blocked: no
1: phy0: Wireless LAN
   Soft blocked: no
   Hard blocked: no
2: samsung-wlan: Wireless LAN
   Soft blocked: no
   Hard blocked: no

In case firmware for wireless is missing

Code:
sudo dmesg | grep firmware

If nothing results from above command. Post that also.

lastly

Code:
ifconfig -a

should just round out what info is needed for other members to respond to your issue. I know of one linux user in Texas who owns fujitsu laptops and swears by them. But they can be tricky devils (according to Ted).
