Installing the Canon PIXMA MG2520
#1
Hello all,

I need a little bit of help and advice. My mom recently bought a printer.  The Canon PIXMA MG2520. My googlefu skills haven't been the best, I admit, and I can't find anything related to this printer. It's an all-in-one printer so it also has a scanner/copier. I'm not too concerned about that.

I just need to get the printer working. So if anyone could help I would appreciate it.

Open a terminal window (Ctrl+Alt+T) or from Menu > Accessories > Terminal and enter this command and post here the results.

Code:
lsusb

With this command you can see if your printer is recognized from Linux Lite.

Canon printers are covered in the Help Manual, please refer to that. Menu, Favorites, Help Manual, Hardware, Printer Setup, Canon.  Cheers.

To humor your response, since you were kind enough to respond

I see. Thank you, I sincerely did not know that.

edit: actually, the help manual DOES NOT help at all. I searched for mg2500series as it says to do ("Now open Menu, System, Install/Remove Software and search for your printer name. For example if you had the Canon MX870Series Printer then you must use the following format")  and nothing shows up for mg2500series or mg2520series

BUT

I solved my own problem by going into System > Printers > add new printer..since it was USB, it was automatically seen and ready to install.

Go to Menu > Graphics > Scanner to test it, if you haven't done it yet.

Even when you go to Document > Preferences? Maybe you have to specify the source.
