Internet icon is now missing
#1
I'm running the latest versions of LL on desktops and my laptop computers. I noticed last night my laptop is no longer showing the Internet icon in the lower right hand corner, and it cannot be found anywhere on the laptop screen?
It had been left to right in the lower right  of the screen: window1,window2 then internet icon, sound icon then time. Now the internet icon is missing.
I use this icon all the time as I turn off the WIFI on my laptop to save power when not in use. It also told me when I was connected and at what strength.
It was there two nights ago, now gone.
How can I get it back?
Looking under icons in appearance it is not shown nor listed. Changing my type of appearance light/dark,etc does not bring it back.
The other computers are showing the internet icon.

Lite Tweaks, Taskbar Restore.

Restore "Package Management" & "boot Splash" are the only restores. Nothing about any of the bars are even listed in my "Lite Tweaks" menu.

I tried this as well and it did not work. It gave me a 2ND speaker icon for sound:

To get your wifi indicator to return to the panel, try this:
    1) Menu->Settings->Panel
    2) Go to the Items tab
    3) Hit the + button located on the right
    4) Select Indicator Plugin
    5) Hit the +Add button

What you are looking for is the NETWORK MANAGER icon. The internet icon is associated with a browser, which is a totally different thing.
Unfortunately, I never crossed such an issue in 25 years or if it happened it was solved too fast to remember the incident.
Can you make a screenshot of the lower part of the screen? Specifically, the Panel 1 section?
The icon you are looking for is the one in my screenshot. The pointer is on the icon.
If this dissapeared, it means your Panel 1 has trouble. It seems it happened many times and it is XFCE related.

IF SO:

Right-click the TaskBar; Choose Panel, then Panel preferences....
Now, select Panel 1 and then the "Items" tab.
You'll see a list of some items. Click on the + button and add "Indicator plugin". Place it at the end of the list and see what happens.
It might show twice some other icons but this is something that goes wrong in XFCE and this is way above my knowledge to fix.
Anyway, you should see the Network Manager icon now.

Good luck! Smile

I tried that twice. Now I have 3 volume indicators and still no internet icon.
